Summary/Abstract: The aim of this research is to determine the level of elementary physical knowledge, which can be used for solving the problem of nursing task. For this purpose original didactic test was used, which contained tasks from elementary physics and tasks of nursing, too. It was found, that nurses minimally remembered physical knowledge. Nurses preferred to solve practical nursing tasks only by using nursing knowledge. Decoupling physical and nursing knowledge may cause the increased risk of damage to health nurses and patients.
