Summary/Abstract: This article presents the necessity for the adoption of the Investment Plan for Europe, its purpose, structure, stages of its implementation and the main sources of financial resources required for the delivery of the plan which amount to 315 billion euros for the period 2015 - 2020. The role of the European Fund for Strategic Investments (EFSI), being fundamental for the Investment plan for Europe, is outlined in this paper, author discusses the funding sources and the main areas towards which funding will be directed - long-term investment projects and projects of small and medium enterprises and companies with medium market capitalization.
