Summary/Abstract: The report analyses the nature and the dynamics of the spatial interests and policies of important factors in the contemporary international relations (EU, USA, Russia, Turkey and China) through which their spheres of influence in the Western Balkans are outlined. The paper presents the tools and approaches (strategic, economic, political and cultural/religious) through which those countries protect their geopolitical interests in the region and in the six Balkan countries (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Macedonia, Serbia and Montenegro).
