Summary/Abstract: The paper examines the role of science journalism and its opportunities for development in the context of overactivated science, increased public interest and informational situation. The author claims that contextualization should be considered as the main indicator for recognition of the quality of science reporting, when it deals with extreme situations or topics, associated with more than usual scientific uncertainty, such as COVID-19 epidemic.
