Summary/Abstract: In this article, we report on the importance of the European vector for the sustainable development of the Republic of Moldova through the lens of data on foreign trade, investments and foreign assistance. Currently, the European Union is not only the main commercial partner of the Republic of Moldova, but also the primary source of direct investments in the Moldovan economy. Also, during the year, the European Union offered the Republic of Moldova substantial financial support in the form of preferential loans and grants for the construction or renovation of social objects and infrastructure in the villages and cities of Moldova, but also for mitigating the negative economic and social impact that Moldova suffered as a result of the regional security crisis.
