Summary/Abstract: The increase in salaries is a necessary condition to overcome the accumulated significant arrears in the remuneration of judges, which causes the dissatisfaction of judges with the current "system" because, they say, the difficulties and risks related to exercising the function of a judge are not fully rewarded. At the same time, the lack of a causal relationship between the level of remuneration and the set of motivations of judges suggests to us the lack of a simple solution for solving inefficiencies in the justice sector. An approach focused on altering the elements likely to affect the behavior of judges and especially their responsibility towards society is absolutely necessary.
