Summary/Abstract: Local democracy is the level of relations between people and communities and state institutions closest to citizens. The local level is considered optimal for citizens' participation in politics, for the implementation of inclusive decision-making or participatory policy-making (inclusive decision-making, participatory policy-making). This is explained by the fact that, on the one hand, local issues are the most relevant for citizens, on the other hand, it is easiest to ensure participation at the local level (implement forms of communication between local authorities and civil society, and also apply mechanisms of direct democracy).
