Summary/Abstract: The sector of state companies, although with a decreasing share (approximately 14.6% of GDP), remains an important one for the economy of the Republic of Moldova. And the reduced efficiency of state companies, the austere quality of goods produced and/or services provided are associated with a high level of corruption within them. Poor corporate governance of state-owned companies is one of the main obstacles to integrity that greatly increases the risks of corruption Over time, civil society and the media have exercised the role of the litmus test in identifying corruption risks within state-owned companies. The continuation of this effort to identify the integrity obstacles and constraints associated with the corporate governance of state-owned companies is of particular importance, especially in the context of the commitment to reform the sector, assumed by the current government. The present analysis can serve as support for reflection in the process of promoting legislative initiatives aimed at regulating the state companies sector.
