Summary/Abstract: Analysis of child poverty is very important for poverty eradication policies. First of all, any civilized society supports the fight against child poverty as a just cause from a moral and political point of view. Secondly, in the Republic of Moldova, an intergenerational mechanism for the perpetuation of poverty is emerging more and more clearly. This mechanism is manifested by the fact that children born in poor families, when they reach adulthood, create families that face a greater risk of poverty and in which children exposed to poverty will be born, thus forming a vicious circle. Therefore, the sustainable eradication of child poverty will allow the long-term fight against intergenerational poverty. Finally, society's ability to ensure the current and future well-being of children is an essential factor that determines the desire of young people to form families and have children. In other words, the well-being of children in a society determines even the demographic survival chances of that society
