Summary/Abstract: The importance of Poland at the pan-European and regional level has been growing in recent years. Currently, the country has a successful presidency of the Council of the EU, and Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski presents himself in the European arena as one of the leaders in the fight against the economic and financial crisis. He proved it with his speech in Berlin in November 2011, in which he made it clear that his country intends to be intensively involved in European affairs even after the end of the presidency. Greater respectability on the European scene is then the basis for a stronger role for Poland within the Central European region.
