Summary/Abstract: The Center for Free Elections and Democracy is a non-profit organization founded in August 1997 by a group of students – members of the Legal Committee of the Belgrade Student Protest of 1996-97, professors of the Faculty of Law and leading experts in the field of electoral process studies. The Center was founded primarily with the aim of organizing impartial election observation in Serbia, including media monitoring, voting observation and parallel vote counting.
