Summary/Abstract: Exactly one year after the start of the Conference on the Future of Europe, on 9 May 2022, at a closing ceremony in Strasbourg, the President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola, the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen and the French President Emmanuel Macron, on behalf of the Council of the EU, received the final report with proposals and measures, which was drawn up during the consultation with European citizens. However, behind the celebratory ceremony, there are conflicting feelings about the low number of citizens involved, the low interest of the media, as well as doubts about the subsequent implementation of the outputs of the citizens' panels and therefore also about the (un)success of the Conference itself.
