Summary/Abstract: vPreševo (Preshevë), Bujanovac (Bujanoc) and Medveđa (Medvegë) areunderdeveloped municipalities in the south of Serbia with a mixed Albanian, Serbian and Roma population. The area borders Kosovo in the southwest and the Republic of Macedonia in the south. The demographic composition, the position of the region and its underdevelopment made this an unstable area, where the political, security and other conditions in Serbia, Kosovo and the wider region were broken in a specific way.
