Summary/Abstract: The paper makes an attempt at portraying some of the issues imminent in the judicial reform debate as well as their solutions attained from a comparative perspective. Its main focus, however, is on the link between judicial efficiency and economic development. Relying on several empirical studies that contend with this relationship, the paper isolates four complementary methodologies for making the judicial system more efficient. The ultimate aim is to draw those methodologies nearer to the relevant factors in the Republic of Macedonia, in hope that the latter may find them useful in the course of the ongoing judicial reforms in the country.
