Summary/Abstract: The current focus group is part of a research project aimed at strengthening human rights in Bulgaria by establishing institutions such as the Ombudsman. A special focus in this case was on the respect of the rights of women and disadvantaged people. The group discussion is an attempt to extract the main problems faced by Bulgarian women and disadvantaged people in a Bulgarian municipality and on this basis to outline the place and the role of the ombudsman institution.
