Summary/Abstract: The present sociological analysis is based on empirical data from representative public opinion surveys conducted by the Center for the Study of Democracy in May 1998 and February 1999. Its purpose is to outline the sustainable structure of the information space in the country as well the degree of influence of the mass media on the Bulgarian society. The report outlines several key prerequisites and issues underpinning the functioning of the media.
