Summary/Abstract: This article is prepared as a contribution to comprehensive review of the legal framework for the status of churches and religious communities in Serbia. The author analyzes the main legal provisions, as well as challenges and dilemmas regarding the constitutionality of the Law on churches and Religious Communities, with particular reference to the decision of the Constitutional Court on the constitutionality of that Act. Although the author concludes that the statutory provisions are fully in accordance with the Constitution, he proposes a few measures to improve the legislative framework.
