Summary/Abstract: The basis for the analysis of the current position of patients in Croatia and their problems are a huge experience of practices in dealing with patient's complaints. Also it was given an overview of legislation relating to areas that have a direct impact on the position of the patients, such as social relations, professional medical issues as well as health insurance. Based on the mentioned it was identified some important issues that have an impact on the position of the patient in Republic of Croatia and justified possible solutions, containing instructions about the need of improving the legislation on patient's rights, the introduction of information and educational content about the health care system at all levels, from preschool age to the highest experts in the field of medicine and to encourage their citizens to play an active role and participation in the creation of health policy.
