Summary/Abstract: The country profile of Romania focuses on housing and evictions as a cornerstone of the work of the European Roma Rights Center (ERRC). This profile also looks at the following aspects: displacement and migration, women's and children's rights and violence against Roma, including police mistreatment and anti-Roma statements by senior officials, members from the government or politicians. The information is up to date in April 2013. This publication and related research has been funded by various funding bodies of the European Roma Rights Center (ERRC), including the Swedish International Development Agency, the Open Society Foundations and the Sigrid Rausing Trust.
