Summary/Abstract: Against a background of economic uncertainty worsening worldwide, the European Union has to play a significant role by working hard to lessen the effects that are caused by escalating sovereign debt crisis of certain Member States. At the same time, the Republic of Moldova, for which the EU is the main economic partner, has experienced good economic relations with the European countries - contrasting evolution with the dynamics in the EU.
