Summary/Abstract: A series of crises affecting the EU since 2008, in particular Brexit, have strengthened India’s view of the bloc as an organisation with a diminishing role in the world. The lack of knowledge and underestimation of the EU are important barriers to deepening the strategic partnership and accelerating cooperation with India, which are objectives of the EU strategy towards India adopted in December 2018. To succeed, the EU would need to improve its image and intensify public and cultural diplomacy. The establishment of a Europe House in New Delhi, as an institution promoting cooperation and knowledge of the Union, could play an important role in this.
