Short Description
"The Jagiellonian University Young Musicologists Quarterly" is a scientific journal created at the Institute of Musicology of Jagiellonian University in Cracow in 2008 on the initiative of a group of students headed by Agnieszka Kołtun. The journal provides a discussion forum for young researchers (PhD candidates, alumni, and students) of the Institute of Musicology of Jagiellonian University in Cracow and other institutes and universities related to the field of musicology.
The journal offers articles devoted to a variety of topics on musicology such as ethnomusicology, methodology, music theory, history of early and contemporary music, aesthetics of music, and reception of music. All the articles submitted for publication in the journal are peer reviewed (a double blind review process) for substantive assessment.
"The Jagiellonian University Young Musicologists Quarterly" was created with collaboration of The Jagiellonian University Students' Scientific Society of Editors. The journal is published by The Jagiellonian University Students' Scientific Society of Musicology. The journal has been registered in the National Library of Poland under the number ISSN 2353-7094 (until 2013 under the number ISSN 2080-3249 as „Kwartalnik Studentów Muzykologów UJ" - "The Jagiellonian University Musicology Students Quarterly").
The journal is indexed in the following databases: BazHum, CEJSH - The Central European Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities, Index Copernicus, POL-index, and RILM Abstracts of Music Literature. The journal is to be found on the list of peer-reviewed periodicals of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education (Section B, item 862), and granted with 5 points.
