Short Description
“Theatrical Notes” is a quarterly dedicated to contemporary drama, theatre and other performing arts. A special feature of this magazine is that it combines academic reflection with journalistic forms of writting. It also offers a forum for theatrical artists to describe their experiences through interviews or essays. Articles written by philosophers, antropologists and cultural theorists published in the magazine place theatre in the wider cultural context. Most of the issues of “Theatrical Notes” are monographic in character and they were devoted to following artists: Jerzy Grotowski, Anton Tschekhov, Tadeusz Różewicz, Tadeusz Łomnicki, Krystian Lupa, Jerzy Jarocki, Jan Kott, Tadeusz Słobodzianek, Grzegorz Jarzyna, Krzysztof Warlikowski, or topics: the youngest Polish theatre directors, theatrical criticism, German theatre, the end of the century, rock music as a performing art.
