Short Description

The Motif Foundation of Folklore Education (Motif Halk Oyunları Eğitim ve Öğretim Vakfı) started the publication of the Motif Academy Journal of Folklore in 2008 as a peer-reviewed scholarly journal in 2008. Until 2018, the journal was published biannually in 20 issues. Starting with the Spring 2018 issue, the board of editors went to a change in the publication policy and the journal will be published quarterly (March, June, September and December of each year). The articles submitted to the journal are being reviewed by the members of the advisory board and leading scholars in their related fields in blind review system. Articles that do not follow the publication guidelines and the principles of academic ethic are considered against the publication policies and duly rejected. The accepted articles are published according to the date of submission. We aim to publish, encourage and share folklore studies with a particular focus on the Turkey and a global perspective, that is, comprising articles subject to international peer review.
