Short Description
Bulgarian Psychological Society (BPS) was founded on May 5, 1969 as a professional, non-governmental and non-political organization that unites the largest community of highly qualified Bulgarian psychologists who work in all areas of psychological science and professional practice. Bulgarian Psychological Society (BPS) is a nationally representative member of the largest international organizations – the International Union of Psychological Science (IUPsyS), the International Association of Applied Psychology (IAAP) and the EFPA (European Federation of Psychologists' Associations)
The mission of the Bulgarian Psychological Society (BPS) is to be the responsible professional community of Bulgarian psychologists in the service of people, science and development. Since 2008, the Society administers the Public Register of Psychologists in Bulgaria and the National Register of Psychological Tests, takes care of the lifelong professional development of its members and the implementation of the Code of Professional Ethics of Psychologists and the International and National Standards for Good Scientific research and professional practice.
Membership in the Bulgarian Psychological Society (BPS) is an expression of professional qualification and responsibility for every Bulgarian psychologist and a guarantee for the quality of the scientific products and professional psychological services offered to the Bulgarian society.
The Society organizes a National Congress of Psychology every three years.
The Bulgarian Journal of Psychology (ISSN 0861-7813), as one of the leading scientific journals in psychology, is the official bilingual issue of the Bulgarian Psychological Society (BPS) since 1973.
