Short Description

The Romanian Journal of Museums, edited by the National Institute for Cultural Research Training (INCFC), has a history of almost 60 years of publishing specialized scientific literature in the field of museum and cultural heritage research.

The first issue of the magazine was published in 1964, and from 1974 to 1989 appeared together with the Historical Monuments’ Magazine, under the title “Museums and Monuments Review. Museum Series”. After 1990, it returned to its original title. After a period of the magazine’s discontinuance, the National Institute for Cultural Research and Training took charge of publishing this periodical in 2014, bringing a change as far as the philosophy of contents was concerned.

The current target is for the Romanian Journal of Museums to become the main publication of professionals working in Romanian museums, by hosting scientific articles, reviews of recent publications and exhibitions, as well as debates on actual and diverse subjects in the field of museums and cultural heritage.
