Musicologica Olomucensia (ISSN 2787-9186 [Print]; ISSN 2787-9194 [Online]), published formerly as Acta Universitatis Palackianae Olomucensis. Musicologica (ISSN 1212-1193 [Print]), is a peer-reviewed scholarly journal founded in 1993 at Palacký University, one of the oldest Central European universities. With historically, theoretically, and analytically focused studies, the journal presents the results of fundamental scientific research conducted by members of Czech and international musicological institutions. Particular emphasis is placed on specific issues of Czech and East-Central European musical culture. The aim of the journal is to systematically research the musical culture of the region and to mediate academic dialogue between the musicological communities of the respective countries. The texts are published in English, German, Czech, and Slovak; all studies are provided with an abstract in Czech and English. All submitted manuscripts undergo a double-blind peer-review process by two independent reviewers.
Musicologica Olomucensia is an open access journal. All articles in the journal can be accessed freely online without any restrictions. Readers are free to download, print or read all published texts. The authors retain copyright and grant the journal the right of first publication, with the understanding that the work is also licensed under a Creative Commons license (CC-BY-SA 4.0), which allows others to share the work with acknowledgement of authorship and initial publication in this journal. This licence is used by the journal since 2023. By submitting a text for publication in Musicologica Olomucensia, the authors agree to the terms of this licence. The authors are allowed to deposit versions of their work in an institutional or other repository of their choice without any restrictions. No fee is required from the authors to process the publication of the submitted text.
