Short Description

“Sacrum et Decorum” is published in English and Polish language, a new scientific journal in the field of Polish regional studies, in the sacred art of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, presented in a wide – international cultural context. "Sacrum et Decorum” has no counterpart among scientific journals published in Poland, and few foreign periodicals (European) with respect to sacred art represent too large formula, and only occasionally they provide their content to the publication of works in the field which the domain of our magazine. Its publication satisfies the needs of scientific group of art historians and related sciences, among which we observe the growing interest in sacred art research of the past two hundred years and the possibility to publish their results in a separate document allowing for specific and unique nature of the field. The Scientific Board includes representatives of Polish scientific centres – people who are authorities in the field corresponding to the profile of the magazine. Since 2010, professors of Strasbourg and Lausanne universities became part of it, considering the appearance of the “Sacred et Decorum” as important among the scientific periodicals published in Europe. The Scientific Board, and persons cooperating with it are scientists working in various university centres. Thanks to this factor, articles published in “Sacrum et Decorum” provide a complete picture of ongoing research. “Sacrum et Decorum” is an annual with the date related to the deadline for submitting articles to the editor, intended for the current issue, which appears in the first quarter of next year. The magazine consists of reviewed original articles with the introductory text prepared by the editor. Exceptionally we wish to publish texts written by foreign authors, regarded as important by the editor, which have already been published but are not easily accessible and have not been translated into English and Polish language before. Sometimes the annual also includes a separate section covering reports, reviews, and reference materials. Texts can be submitted in the language preferred by the author. After introductory acceptance by the editorial team, they are translated into Polish and English, and then approved by the Scientific Board and reviewed.
