Belgrade Journal of Media and Communications

Belgrade Journal of Media and Communications

Frequency: 2 issues / Country: Serbia

The Belgrade Journal of Media and Communications is established to be more than the official publication of its founder, the Faculty for Media and Communications, Singidunum University, Belgrade, Serbia. Our new Journal is dedicated to the imposed challenges to publish itself beyond the limits of any identity formations. We are community, communicability, of differences: everything what we are reflected can be presented, without exception, as a split in itself, not one, identical with itself. Heterogeneity of ours editorial politics will be based on a special protocol on unrestricted circulation of all discourses and counter-discourses. Our special issues will be produced by opening a gap, unbridged gap, between Humanity and Posthumanity. Despite of a conventional demand for normal, stabilized discourses, we share an idiosyncratic conviction that every demand to close and bridged conceptual gaps is both unavoidable and impossible. In this sense, our journal represents a proper voice of the self-antagonized concepts, suitable collective body for a discursive production in its pure alterity, mediality and communicability. Our Journal will perform a new kind of the textual responsibility, responsibility toward reflection of the others, reflection without cannibalistic consumption of the otherness. It means that we must try to cultivate any act of discursive mourning, sadness, toward those who are already dead and not yet born! This means that we must act between the apparent past and the enigmatic future, between compulsive life and death. Therefore, we will stay unconditionally devoted to painful readings, despite of the fact that any act of discursive mourning leaves us in inescapable tears, always.
