Creating an effective European Research and Innovation Area is a major objective of the European Commission and at the same time a major challenge for all European Union countries. The main issues currently faced by the European countries in creating ER(I)A are the fragmentation of research communities, both at national and EU levels, and insufficient links between the academic and business worlds. The recent addition of ten New Member States (NMS) has brought both issues even more in the forefront.

The Polish-Egyptian Mission to the Hatshepsut Temple at Deir el-Bahari focused attention on the ongoing restoration of the Solar Cult complex, conservation of the Southern Chamber of Amun-Re, and the continued documentation and excavation of the Royal Mortuary Cult Complex and the area to the south of it. Meanwhile the final result of our restoration of the North Wall of the Upper (Festival) Courtyard was recorded with regard to the epigraphy, and a study of scenes from the “Beautiful Feast of the Valley” was completed. Two scenes with Ahmes-Neferure in the West Wall of the Courtyard, located on either side of the granite portal, were documented to illustrate a point of ideological importance for the interpretation of the temple. The restoration and conservation of the sandstone statue of King Amenhotep I (found in Asasif in 1982) was continued. In the storeroom, housing relief fragments from the temple of Tuthmosis III, activities centered on completing a theoretical reconstruction of the iconographic temple decoration program.

Excavations of the site of Es-Sadda 1, while a salvage project par excellence, were planned as a multidisciplinary research program including a study of the ancient population, the mortuary practices and material culture of a Post-Meroitic community. Two seasons were carried out in 2005: in January and in November. The spring season was dedicated to identifying the differences between the six grave clusters followed by a detailed exploration of all tombs from a selected group. The result was a classification of burial forms, reflecting a division into a number of categories. Research was continued in the fall with a survey of the area situated west of the tumuli in Group I. In over a half of the tumuli, animal skeletal remains were uncovered, including post-consumption remains of goats and fragments of a dog skeleton.

A major economic reform that took place in the People’s Republic of Hungary started during the end of the 1960s. It was called The New Economic Mechanism or the NEM. The initiator of it was the Hungarian communist leader János Kádár.The government introduced economic regulators, i.e. indirect financial, fiscal, and price instruments used to influence enterprise activity. It also introduced a profit tax and allowed enterprises to make their own decisions concerning output, marketing, and sales.In a period of control and censorship, much information regarding the Hungarian NEM could get to the reading public of Oradea. The articles contanting all the concerning data presented in the newspaper Crisana, between 1968-1969, are analysed in the following study.

Acute psychotic disorder induced by psychoactive substances is characterized by delirium and hallucinations, emerging throughout or within a month from intoxication with or withdrawal from a particularn psychoactive substance.(1) Differential diagnosis must take into account, first of all, the medical conditions (central nervous system infections, vascular disorders, degenerative diseases), then the schizophreniform disorder and mood disorders (bipolar disorder). This paper features the case of a young woman aged 24, addicted to psychoactive substances – mainly synthetic cannabinoids – who came to the Psychiatric ER on an emergency basis, with symptoms of delirium and with hallucinations. The young woman’s addictive behavior was based on an unhappy childhood, as her parents had abandoned her at the age of 2 and she was left in her grandmother's care. Her parents divorced; the father refused to keep in touch with her or her sister, and their mother works in Italy, and she is indifferent to them. Since they had no parent figure from such a young age, both daughters experienced feelings of sadness, despair, which was a possible cause of addictive behavior. The female patient smoked since the age of 17 ten cigarettes a day; at 21, she began using cannabis, cocaine, and heroin, while at the age of 22, she started using synthetic cannabinoids, to which she became soon addicted. She bought the psychoactive substances from her paycheck; subsequently, upon leaving her job, she started stealing assets from the house in order to buy drugs.

The article identifies the determinants of the asymmetry of foreign trade turnover between Ukraine and Poland based on an analysis of competitiveness indicators of the studied countries in the period 2003−2017. The emphasis is on calculation of the comparative advantages of particular commodity headings in Polish exports in the domestic market of Ukraine. Potential directions of the intensification of bilateral trade were evaluated.

Sustainability issues are addressed extensively in current researches. Nonetheless, the authors consider it necessary to deepen studies on the role of public procurement in the transition from the linear economy model to the circular economy model. The authors also consider that there is a close link between sustainable acquisitions and the development of the sustainable financial market. This is demonstrated by the evolution of exponential growth in both the volume of sustainable debt securities and investments in sustainable assets. For the elaboration of this study, the authors applied the monographic method to establish value judgments regarding the approached concepts, the comparative method to highlight particularities of the different approaches of the concept of public procurement in terms of sustainability aspects. To determine the trend in 2012-2019 of sustainable debt securities, the authors applied the time series adjustment method according to the power function and the average growth rate method.

One of the main challenges is the question how sustainable development assumptions can be implemented in practice better and more effectively. This paper explores the relation between sustainable development trends and experience economy, with its main aim to describe links of those two ideas. The authors hypothesized that there is relation between sustainable development and experience economy since both ideas have common goals and are a counterweight to the concept of mass consumption. The aim of the study is to prove that the concept of experience economics along with its conscious design in an enterprise can counteract growing consumerism. In order to verify this hypothesis and achieve the main aim, the author used triangulation methods combining desk research and qualitative research. The main research result is that designing experience in organisations will be an important trend that will allow to meet the current challenges not only economic, social but also ecological. It is a very good time for designers for using their creativity in many different branches of industry.

This paper offers an analysis of the liminality of the ‘Self’ and its subsequent projection onto the material world in Anne Rice’s early novels, Interview with The Vampire and The Vampire Lestat. The study is focused on two characters of the said works – Lestat de Lioncourtand his long-time companion Claudia – and aims at examining their respective‘Selves’ as preternatural beings as well as unique individuals. The research draws on Judith Butler’s and Rosi Braidotti’s theories in order to examine the physical, emotional, and mental changes the characters under go. It subsequently shows that the preternatural ‘Self’exists in a constant state of non-telic transformation, as well as that the perennial metamorphosisis continuously reflected in the characters’ material homes.

A new interpretation of the pre-Crusader phase of the site follows from the identification of a pre-Crusader rock-cut chapel. In particular, in early mediaeval time, a monastic community at al-Wu’ayra and a number of hermitic cells surrounding a central fortified coenobium preceded the later military castle keep. The Crusaders profited by the presence of a Christian fortified settlement, easy to transform into a military installation by a simple addition of a number of buildings, which are identifiable by a chrono-typology of building techniques.The new program of research which started in 2017 aims at registering, surveying, and studying various hermitic installations around the perimeter of the town in order to contextualize this early medieval phase of al-Wu’ayrain the topography of Petra and contribute to the knowledge of a ‘minor’and underestimated aspect of the town in early Christian time. In fact, these monastic-hermitic settlements located in segregated spots of the peri-urbanarea, surviving the abandonment of the major churches of the town, can help to understand in a more realistic way the articulated forms of Christian presence and its duration until the late 19th century.

It is necessary for producers to use their economic resources and integrate to foreign markets in order to survive. By doing so, they contribute to national economic growth and provide employment opportunities. Since it is crucial for a country to make use of the present raw material, we analysed the common problems that timber producers face and tried to find solutions to these problems. For this purpose, we conducted this study using the survey technique on timber producers in the provinces of the Central Anatolian Region. According to data we obtained, 89% of the producers use natural drying method, all of them determine product prices according to the cost, and process a minimum of 15 m3 of timber daily. The fact that the most of the participants were either elementary school or high school graduates shows that the education level of this industry is insufficient compared to other enterprises. Also, 98.2% of the participants didn’t export their products. This is a serious concern and possesses a danger for the future of the enterprises.

The present study aimed to introduce nuclear inflation and evaluate its measurement methods. To this aim, monthly data during 2004-2017 were used by focusing on 344 items from the sub-sections of the price index. Previous studies were conducted based on foods and beverages, tobacco, clothing and footwear, housing, water, electricity and gas burning, furniture, appliances and services used in home, health and treatment, transportation, communications, entertainment and cultural affairs, education, restaurant and hotel, and other miscellaneous services, while the present study focused on the subgroups of these 12 groups. The reason for choosing 2004 as starting the year is that no fluctuation and instability occurred in exchange rate during this year. In this study, the common methods used by central banks were used to calculate core inflation in 2004, and finally co-fuzzy, median, volatile component elimination, trimmed mean, and variance contrast methods had better prediction for inflation. However, the variance contrast method is slightly correlated with inflation

MEDIATISED HOME: USING SEMIOTIC REPERTOIRES IN ONLINE WORKPLACE COMMUNICATIONS

Since 2020, people have faced the challenge of constructing new visual modes of online workplace meetings, because we had to use our home for working communications purposes and as a new medium. Mediatisation of home involves redefining semiotic resources and communicational norms concerning the appearance of participants, the background, the use of camera and microphone. The results of the poll demonstrate that this redefining has two aspects: 1) the use of semiotic repertoire to transmit meaningful information about the self and own positions, attitudes, and roles in the communication; and 2) normalisation of own and others’ actions during online meetings from home. The results of the survey contribute to awareness of how the issue of private and working/corporate places is being debated. The author claims that technical aspects of online meetings are at the beginning of their ethical reconstruction, which would provide online workplace communications with new traditions and rules of use of camera and microphone as meaningful parts of the semiotic repertoire.

THE IMPORTANCE OF TEACHING EQUIPMENT IN GEOGRAPHY CLASSROOMS

The main aim of the research was to determine teachers’ opinion on the importance of teaching equipment in geography classroom. The research was conducted during the school year 2020/2021. A total of 134geography teachers from different districts in Serbia took part in the survey. In general, 57.5% of the participants stated that their school buildings have a specialized and separate geography classroom, while in other schools a classroom is shared between related subjects. It is interesting that 84.3% of the participants stated that in their classrooms they have internet at their disposal. Further, it was concluded that there is no statistically significant correlation between the availability of internet connection and the location of school (rural and urban). On the other hand, one of the biggest problems that 38.8% of the participants highlighted is that maps, which are essential for geography teaching, are approximately 20 years old. On average, the best grade for equipment is awarded to schools in the City of Belgrade (3.47) while the lowest grade is awarded to geography classrooms in Kosovo and Metohija province (2.00). On average, participants graded that their classroom equipment is “good”(3.02) while the importance of classroom equipment was graded with “very good” (4.49).

This phenomenon, which was once considered science-fiction, is currently being studied by the academia in many contexts. With the pandemic, new opportunities to utilise modern tools of virtual and augmented reality have opened up. Due to strict government measures, people were faced with a situation they had never been in before. Virtual and augmented reality offer tools and opportunities through which people can learn, communicate, shop, or have fun. This article maps the use of virtual and augmented reality during the pandemic caused by the COVID-19 virus in various areas, such as healthcare, education, tourism, culture, and shopping.

The novel of the twentieth century is characterized by an autonomy of forms, tending to become an autonomous genre. The new novel refuses conventions, that is, the coherent rendering of life, preferring, instead, the demonstration of the artificial. The modern novel no longer follows the methodical analysis of souls, but seeks the inner disorder, the secret of the character’s existence. The novel of the twentieth century thus becomes an epic of consciousness. Unlike Joyce, whose novel becomes esoteric, Kafka becomes the founder of an absurd novel. In Kafka’s novel, the meaning is suspended in a world that is unable to understand and promote true ideals and values. Franz Kafka represents for the 20th century literature a point of reference, that of the introduction of the myth of anguish and of the absurd in the realm of universal literature. Kafka’s work seems to concentrate, in a unitary whole, the most important tendencies of the new novel.

Bucharest multiculturalism was a feature of its cultural life throughout the 19th and 20th centuries. It contributed to the interwar architectural development and creative output of Bucharest. This development envolved some lesser known jewish architects such as: Emanuel Arnet, Leon Silion, Jean Krakauer, Iacob Rosinthal, Harry Schoenberg. The opinions expressed by interwar architects concerning modern architecture was facing the opposition of traditionalist architects. The modernisation of Bucharest was a matter of architecture and identity. Therefore the article also makes a hypothesis concerning the anonimity of a magazine report about the modern architecture of Bucharest published in “Romanian ilustration” of 24.08.1932. This magazine report was published in the antisemitic atmosphere in interwar Bucharest. Based on some clues the article attempts to identify the authors of the report, both the interviewed architect and the journalist. The article will give a general outline concerning the life and activity of the presumed author, the architect and artist Heinrich Schoenberg. The Sionist interests of Henry Shoenberg’s siblings and family will also be discussed.

This research aims to analyze the exhibitions activity of the Aparte Gallery of “George Enescu” National University of the Arts in Iași, from 2005 to 2020, respectively artistic projects created by students, teachers or guest artists of the Faculty of Visual Arts and Design. The multitude of artistic events formats includes exhibitions, workshops, conferences, book launches, residencies, bachelor and dissertation exams, and highlights the versatility of the gallery that has evolved, over time, into a real space of contemporary artistic projects, which encourages the artistic research and experiment in all FAVD’s specializations. The aim of the research is to relate the diversity of the artistic event formats, their the matics and mediatic variety, within the institutional context of university art education.

This comparative study shows how concepts like circular economy, innovation and competitiveness are understood, accepted and implemented in Romania and Serbia, countries with similar preoccupations for the European Union's recommendations and destiny. It is shown that the similar results obtained outline the lack of continuity in applying the resilient strategy for general development and the strategic role of investments as a pillar of modernisation. Building a resilient and modern society requires fundamental and complex changes in the political decision-makers attitude and people's civic behaviour, linked to the circular economy principles, the need for substantial investments in top innovative research, high-tech products, and adequate public policies of general interest.
