The 21st annual Students' Literary Science Conference, held in Brno on April 27-28, 2023, showcased a diverse range of 32 presentations from students across various study programs from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Poland. The conference featured topics from interwar literature to contemporary works, including examinations of Nietzsche's philosophy in Czech interwar drama, the Slovak leftist review DAV, and the concept of the "Marxist body." Contributions also delved into fantasy and sci-fi literature, current trends in Czech literature written by women, and the emerging field of queer literature. The event highlighted interdisciplinary approaches and the integration of artificial intelligence tools in literary studies, with discussions on the narrative construction of identity and the transformation of the essay genre into audiovisual formats. The conference concluded with a lively debate on children's readership and methodological approaches to studying it, demonstrating the young literary scholars' willingness to tackle new, unexplored topics and their ability to bring interdisciplinary perspectives to their research.
