Empirical researches on the Balkans suggest that there is increasing significance of the present pluralism of religious believes, as well as religious organizations. This article focuses on the analysis of answers given by respondents for questions on faith, which show similarities and differences between members of different religious communities in the Balkans. The questions raised in the article are related to believing in God, angles, Heaven, Hell, Purgatory, Salvation, Resurrection. The Balkan Monitor poll (2006), conduceted on the sample size of 9464 participants from the Balkans, shows that the religious belief is strongly present in the Balkans. The scale of one to four shows that 60% of people believe in God without any doubt, 20% in angles, and 17% in demons. Heaven is a reality for 38%, and there are 20% of people who believe in Purgatory. Believing in Resurrection, which was scanned on the sample of 1504 people in Serbia, was present in almost a half of the respondents (49%). There is no significant difference between men and women, but the differences between the members of different denominations are statistically significant and suggest that various protestant communities have most belief in Resurrection, then the Catholics, followed by the Orthodox Christians, whiile members of Judaism and Islam have least belief.

In the presented text, author explains the theory of resurrection as it is represented by traditional Calvinist theology, from the beginnings of The Reformation till today. It is clear that resurrection is thorough assumption necessary for complete understanding of Christian religion because, without it, every speculation about Jesus Christ life, deed and meaning of His sacrifice would be pointless. Texts from The Westminster Confession of Faith, which are, with its thematic comprehensiveness, for centuries a landmark for Anglican/Episcopal and Reformed/Presbyterian churches, should be considered in that sense. In christological and eschatological meaning, the resurrection is the source of hope and faith in indefinite personality of God and the union which God is providing for the mankind till eternity. Resurrection is, simultaneously, reality, anticipation and joy caused by The Kingdom of God and its certainty.

This paper deals with the exploration of early Christian pilgrimage in period from the 4th till the 6th century. This period is particularly interesting because it gives us insight into the way in which Christianity was shaped, from the moment when it was proclaimed for the state religion. The research provides insight in acceptance of many other religions elements, particularly between people, throughout the material traces (text and objects). The healing (physical or spiritual) was the main theme of early pilgrimages. The aim of this paper is to show the relationship between believers from 4th to the 6th century and contemporary believers and to determine similarity between them through some pilgrimage elements such are icons, symbolical religious objects, sacred oil, relics, shrines ans martyrdoms.

In the article the author presents different theoretical and methodological approaches to substance addiction: biological, socio-cultural, psychological, and narrative theories. The author argues that we have to develop a comprehensive theory of addiction that should include not only biomedical, psychological and socio-cultural factors but spiritual aspects of the individual as well. A more holistic and yet fully empirical model of research in addictiology as a human science must indeed include the spiritual dimension. Therefore, a comprehensive theory of addiction has to address all aspects: physical, psychological, social, and spiritual for effective treatment and recovery.

Ecumenism is much more Western “characterized”, and related to achieve integration of Christian Churches. Western “organizational” approach is criticised by Orthodox Church, that insists on implementing theological criterions of Undivided Church. The foundation of Ecumenical Movement was initiated by Protestant Church, and accepted by Orthodox one. The focal point was related to social inter–church cooperation, that was institutionalized within World Council of Churches (WCC). WCC lacks clear ecclesiological identity, implement majority vote decision making, and intends to be involved in important universal political processes. Conference of European Churches (CEC) is similar Organization, while Parliament of World Religions is focused to increase the influence of Global Ethics in inter– religious relations.

In this paper we will examine the position of small religious community of Romanian Nazarenes in Vojvodina in the context of different multicultural theories. Minority religions are very often obliged to dominant political/cultural/ religious discourse. The relationship between state and authentic identities of micro-communities is very often reduced to declarative acceptance only, without any further development. The essentialization of the usual minority identities – ethnic, represents an obstacle in recognizing one different dimension of pluralistic society, dialog and tolerance in multicultural debates.

The Evangelical Society of Students (EUS, since 1991) in Serbia, seen in its closest natural surroundings, amongst the Balkan societies of Albania (BSKSH, since 1991), Bulgaria (BHSS, since 1993), and Romania (OSJHR, since 1998), is also founded on the common principals of these and other like-minded societies. The Evangelical Society of Students in Serbia has from its very beginning been based upon Christian, biblical values and spreading the international spirit of its home society, the International Fellowship of Evangelical Students (IFES, unofficially since 1880, and officially since 1946). The work of the EUS is in the main part voluntary. On this basis the Society organizes conferences, seminars, camps, projects, voluntary work, student exchanges, foreign language schools, excursions and other activities, the basic aim of which is to encourage in individuals an understanding of the key postulates of the Bible, accepting its conclusions into ones everyday life, and of the integrity of the Christian believer. The Balkan society with which the EUS most frequently co-operates, oragnizing reconciliation camps, is the Society of Christian Albanian Students. The Protestant ethic of these camps and the Protestant approach to work also contributes to their quality, so that in the future we can expect much more international and national camps which will be concerned with both the development of Christian values and of personal professionalism.
