Przegląd repertuaru na duet gitarowo-fortepianowy w ujęciu historycznym od XVIII do XXI wieku

The article aims at discussing the directions of development of the repertoire for chamber guitar-piano duet. Using the methods of historical sciences as well as music theory, the author focuses on the most important aspects of repertoire development, for the ensemble which is quite unusual in classical music, and relies on data from her own searches and interviews with composers. The repertoire is presented as a whole: from the time of the emergence of performance practice for guitar and piano, whose beginnings can be observed in the music of the 18th century, to compositions written in 2020. The repertoire has been divided into segments and classified according to the author's concepts. It also describes the most important, in the author’s - active concert performer – belief, sound perspectives in selected works with emphasis on those compositional means which guarantee the balance of sound of individual parts without multi-aspect prejudice to both instruments.

TÜRK EDEBİYATINDA PARNASYEN ŞÂİRLERİN BESTELENMİŞ ŞİİRLERİNİN TÜRK MÛSİKÎSİNE YANSIMALARI

In this study, which examines the musical elements in line with the images most used by the Parnasian poets in Turkish literature, firstly, information about the Parnassism movement is given and information is given from general to specific about Yahya Kemal Beyatlı and Tevfik Fikret, the representatives of this movement in Turkish literature. Qualitative research method was used in the data collection process of this study, which was created by making use of the interdisciplinary structure of literary and musical arts. After this process, literature review was made and related articles, books, theses and web resources were used. In line with the analysis process of the data obtained, Yahya Kemal Beyatlı has the “sea” image most used by the parnasian movement; his poems “Dün kahkahalar yükseliyorken evinizden, Perestij, Geçmiş Yaz, Ses, Mevsimler, İstinye, Gece, Kar Mûsikîleri, Sessiz, Gemi, Şu kopan fırtınalar ve Süleymâniye’de Bayram sabahı, Dalgın Geceler, Çubuklu Gazeli,” and Tevfik Fikret's Hân-ı Yağmâ, Haluk’un Sesi, Küçük Asker and Çal Meleğim in this study, the reflection form of the poems, which were selected by the random sampling technique named "Special", on the music is discussed. By determining which tunes and by which composers the examined poems were used, the reflection form of the composed poems on the music was analyzed within the framework of composition and lyrics harmony, poet and composer mood harmony, it was aimed to gain new studies for both literature and music fields and to be a reference for interdisciplinary studies. . It has been determined that the composed works analyzed within the scope of the subject, as in the poems of the parnasian poets, are kept in the forefront of art, therefore, they have taken their place in the literature as Classical Turkish Music compositions in general. However, it was determined that the works were created correctly and in parallel with each other in terms of composition and lyrics, as well as poet and composer mood harmony.

The Anatolian lands, which have hosted numerous civilizations, continue to embrace various traditions, cultures, and music despite the passage of centuries. It is an inevitable result that cultures living in the same region for many years leave traces of themselves and that other societies follow and adopt these traces. The issue of how interactions are embraced at common points and the clarity of the results when investigating their origins have not been fully confirmed. In order to better understand how the interaction between cultures unites at basic points, how it becomes an integral part of their lives, how it affects traditions and music, important points in history must be known. This study aims to examine the Anatolian influence on the formation of Greek music using periodical approaches. The research takes a descriptive approach and employs qualitative research methods, particularly document analysis, by reviewing relevant literature in the field. The study falls under the category of descriptive historical research. Sub-objectives have been set in line with the established goal, encompassing “Music of Ancient Greek and Hellenistic Era,” “Music of Roman Era,” “Music of Byzantine and Christian Era,” “Music of Ottoman Empire,” and “Music of Modern Greek Era.”

In the process that started with the Tanzimat edict in the first half of the 19th century, the reforms and innovations made especially in the fields of politics, military and education had important effects on the Ottoman music culture. In the emergence of these effects, the educational institutions established instead of the traditional palace school Enderun and the Mûzikâ-yı Hümâyun, which was established instead of the Mehterhâne-i Hümâyûn, are also accepted as the beginning of the change in music culture. Especially as a result of the termination of the activities of the institutions where traditional music education and performance is carried out and the creation of Mûzikâ-yı Hümâyun, the westernization and the beginning of the performance of Western music in an institutional style represents an important change. As a result of this change in the first quarter of the 19th century, Western music performing and composing became widespread towards the end of the century, especially in the palace and its surroundings. In the face of the widespread and institutional performance of Western music at this level, institutionalization efforts have also emerged in Turkish music circles. In this study, the change and transformation in Turkish music will be tried to be explained through the institutional structure and education system of Dârü’l-elhân, which was established in the early 20th century as a result of the change that started in the 19th century.

Raznovrsno cvijeće, česme, šadrvani, snovi i čežnje, pendžeri i uski sokaci, i još mnoge lijepe riječi ispunjavaju i ukrašavaju lirske narodne pjesme. Ukrašavaju ih i nebeska tijela: sunce, mjesec i zvijezde, kao najvjerniji pratioci ljudi, najvjerniji svjedoci njihovih sudbina. Ona su u pjesmama prisutna kao putokaz, kao mjerač (otkucaj) vremena, kao dah života, kao simboli kojima se ispoljava žestina ljubavi… I, kao takva, ona se prizivaju, veličaju, vole. U ovome radu nastoji se pokazati prisutnost i funkciju ovih nebeskih tijela u lirskim narodnim pjesmama koje su se pjevale na prostoru Sandžaka. Povezanost sa suncem, mjesecom i zvijezdama je bliska i ona se ostvaruje kroz ljubavne osjećaje, bilo djevojke ili “vjerne ljube” koja hodi u avliji, ili “dragog” koji putuje, jezdi kroz goru, ili je u nekoj đemiji na moru. Sunce, mjesec i zvijezde spuštaju se na čelo ljepotica, na duvak nevjeste, i, iskovana vještim rukama kujundžija, ova nebeska tijela ukrašavaju njihovo bijelo grlo i njihova njedra bijela. Prisutnost sunca, mjeseca i zvijezda posebno je zastupljena u sevdalinkama, lirskim narodnim pjesmama urbane sredine, koje su ukrašavale i duhovnost Sandžaka, ranije Novopazarskog sandžaka, koji je do 1865. godine bio u sastavu Bosanskog pašaluka, od tada Bosanskog vilajeta, do 2. februara 1877. godine kada je Novopazarski sandžak definitivno izdvojen iz Bosanskog vilajeta i priključen Kosovskom vilajetu.

A single-case evaluation study compares the teaching of Braille music notation using anintervention tool in the form of the web interface www.braille-music.org with traditional teachingusing the textbook „Notopis nevidomých“. The study responds to the pandemic and the related trend ofdigitalisation and shows that the newly created interactive platform Braille-Music is compatible withassistive technologies for people with visual impairments and is an effective alternative or supplementto traditional teaching methods for teaching Braille notation.

THE FEMININE NARRATIVE OF THE EXILE: OLGA CRISTOLOVEANU

The article presents how the Romanian feminine identity was „written”, negotiated and performed by the Romanian emigres to the United States in the first half of the 20th century, taking as an example the case of soprano Olga Cristoloveanu. Almost unknown today, she created a double-articulated persona, that of the “allegoric Romania/woman clad in peasant attire”, and that of the modern, Romanian-American New Yorker, with extensive social skills for balancing the perception of her public persona, and, consequently, of the Romanian woman. Her activity as a self-appointed educator of the U.S. audience in Romanian traditional music and culture also reflects the way in which the representation of Romania was negotiated in the U.S. at the time.

МЕТАФІЗИКА ЕПОХАЛЬНИХ СИНХРОНІЗАЦІЙ І МУЗИКА

The purpose of this work is to trace the natural character of those historical metaphysical similarities that are laid down by the repetition of social changes from century to century and evoke the corresponding artistic and stylistic analogies based on the religious and cultural tendencies of nations. The methodological basis is the intonation approach of B. Asafiev’s school in Ukraine, comparative and hermeneutic prolongations of intonation in the works of D. Androsova, T. Verkina, O. Kozarenko, I. Kotliarevskyi, I. Liashenko, Liu Bintsyan, O. Markova, O. Muravska, O. Sokolova, with the use of scientific and research methods: art historical and analytical, descriptive and historical, cultural and regionalist, religious studies. The scientific novelty of the work is determined by the originality of the correlation of the layers of culture and art according to the logic of their epochal style and thought coincidence, including art historical parallels of ideological and state-building institutions, behavioural and ethical norms of the revolutionary strata of China and Italy in the 1840s and 1850s, the prevalence of stringed plucked instruments as a sign of Renaissance thinking in Europe and China, the capture of Rococo influences on the Cossack culture of Ukraine with a focus on woman’s creative participation. Conclusions. The discovery of Renaissance cultural features in the nations of the East obliges us to recognise analogies with Europe, which is recorded in the parallel of the life-behavioural and cultural-artistic actions of the Italian Risorgimento ("Renaissance of Italy" as the realisation of a romantic utopia) and the Chinese Taipingyang (the construction of the "Heavenly City" utopia as the Renaissance of the greatness of ancient China). The article also introduces the assertion of the original Renaissance "two worlds" in the biconfessional Jagiellonian Poland, in which the component of Cossack Ukraine demonstrated a tangent to the majestic achievements of prosaloon aristocratic instrumentalism in the life of kobzars-bandura players and song-madrigal female creative expression.

ЯВИЩА ЛІТЕРАТУРНО-МУЗИЧНОЇ ЖАНРОВОЇ МІГРАЦІЇ В УКРАЇНСЬКІЙ ФОРТЕПІАННІЙ ТВОРЧОСТІ (ДРУГА ПОЛОВИНА ХІХ – ПЕРША ТРЕТИНА ХХ СТОЛІТТЯ)

The purpose of the work is to highlight the intermedial manifestations of the genre migration from literature to music based on the materials of piano compositions of the Ukrainian authors. Research methodology is based on the principles of comparative studies. In particular, intermedial approach to the study of inter-art language codes in musical compositions with the genre titles connected with the literature interaction has been used. Genological, system-analytical, generalised-typological, and comparative methods have been applied to draw parallels, to find similarities and differences between literary genre connotations and piano interpretations of a ballad, elegy, impromptu, fairy tale, legend, and poem. Scientific novelty of the research lies in an attempt of intermedial analysis of piano compositions with the existing in literature genre definitions by means of semantic-semiotic interferences. The concepts of the “genre migration” have been introduced to the comparative sphere of literary and musical genre halos, sometimes supplemented with programme guidelines, including reliance on specific folklore sources. Conclusions. Migration of the literary genres to the sphere of music is one of the dimensions of intermediality caused by paratexts of inter-artistic dialogues and polylogues in semiotics and semantic plane, as well as in composition-structural aspect. Despite the fact that these interferences are quite conditional, genre paradigm borrowings are the evidence of the direct mutual influence of literature and music, especially on the examples of the genres of ballad and elegy, which represent the genres of the double music-poetic genesis. Comparison with the genre primary basis-“paragon”, paratextual combination of musical genres with the literary ones (etude-legend, sonata-ballad) or with the programme title allow to claim the individualisation of the composer’s interpretation at different levels of the artistic organisation of a piano script. To sum it up, using literary genre models enriched figurative-semantic, stylistic, and spiritually-cognitive resources of Ukrainian piano music.

KULTURNÍ POLITIKA SVAZU ČESKOSLOVENSKÝCH SKLADATELŮ V OBDOBÍ SOCIALISTICKÉHO REALISMU PERSPEKTIVOU VÁCLAVA DOBIÁŠE

The topic of this paper is the Cultural Policy in the field of Music in the time of the Czechoslovak Socialist Realism. This period is analysed from the point of view of one of the central players Václav Dobiáš (1909–1978). This composer, a high cultural official of the Czech Composers Syndicate and subsequently chairman of the Union of Czechoslovak Composers represents a composer that came from the pre-war avant-garde milieu; however, after the liberation in 1945, he joined the Communist party and coupled his artistic and political life with this movement. Using his cultural and political activities, the paper tries to demonstrate a gradual adoption of Soviet model of cultural policy that is inseparably linked to the methods of Socialist Realism. The first part of paper focuses on Dobiáš’ work in the Czech Composers Syndicate and in the Ministry of Information where he stood out as one of the most confirmed and active cultural workers. An emphasis is put on his vision of the right and socially desired cultural policy. This part is based on sources from the Ministry of Information, Cultural and Propaganda Committee of the Central Committee in the Czechoslovak Communist Party and also on the personal file of Václav Dobiáš from the Archive of Union of Czechoslovak Composers. The other part of the paper focuses on the period after 1949 when the Union of Czechoslovak Composers was established with Dobiáš in its central committee and since 1952 as a chairman. Based on debates with composers and musicologists, the specifics of the socialist realism period are outlined, when the issue of the right composing was being deliberated as well as international cooperation and inner working and importance of the Union of Czechoslovak Composers. The role of Dobiáš and his impact on realisation of a new musical culture that was supposed to represent a propaganda instrument to affect the listener is emphasised. This part is based on the archive of Union of Czechoslovak Composers, alternatively on the monthly journal Hudební rozhledy edited by the Union.

Focusing on two iterations of the Anastasia topos – the 1997 animated musical movie produced and released by Fox Animation Studios and Takarazuka Revue’s Japanese theatrical musical live performance from 2020 –, this article analyzes the significance and impact of historical events and their dialectic renegotiation by means of mass entertainment in crosscultural cross-media perspective. Drawing on extensive fieldwork and archive research, the current analysis attempts a realistic diagnosis of future international developments based on live theatrical representations as well as their crucial reformulations of reality resulted from the empathic exchange between performers and audiences. Moreover, Japan’s attempts at reconfiguring geopolitical relations crisscrossing increasingly nationalist discourses in the public sphere during the 2010s are projected on the – likewise increasingly – polarized global narratives juxtaposing individual freedoms, rights, aspirations with collective expectations, pressures, anxieties.

In the historiographic space, the Reformation refers to the movement to aﬃrm freedom and human rights that appeared in Europe in the second decade of the 16th century and was led by the Augustinian Martin Luther (1483-1545). The ideology of the Reformation was most meaningfully reﬂected through the musical expression of the Protestant hymn. Over time, hymnological, liturgical, and musicological research, reﬂecting the inﬂuence of historicism, continued to inﬂuence church music and some other musical orientations. In the Protestant liturgy, metrical hymns are an important part of congregational worship. Protestant music has a deep functional and theological character, a history of its own, a speciﬁc writing, a particular aesthetic, being dominated by the theological ideas of the texts, and having a precise liturgical function. In the era of digitization and global crises, the huge heritage of Protestant hymnology that liturgical and musicological research has brought with it the development of new forces responsible for the currents of aﬃrming freedom of expression in the global cultural crisis within the social, religious, political, and economic human conditions.

Raw audiovisual material and ethnological documentary can be shared with interlocutors and the general audience. Feedback is obtained. Such a procedure allows us to understand how people view their own culture and what our mistakes and omissions are. Ethnological audiovisual material and ethnological documentary can also be invaluable in the education process.

Музички живот Сремске Митровице у социјалистичкој Југославији (1945−1991): прелиминарна истраживања

The musical life of Sremska Mitrovica during the period of socialist Yugoslavia is viewed in the light of tripartite division into serious, folk and popular music. Within this division, the diversity of musical events is determined by the legacy of cultural distance between different social classes, but is not explicitly marked by the relationship between art music and other genres which do not reach their aesthetic rank. In addition to serious music, the main area of musical life in Sremska Mitrovica during Yugoslav socialism comprised folk music in the form of an urbanized, institutionalized and festivalized folklore tradition, as well as popular music based on the naturalization of global mass musical culture.

Music is an important element in almost all societies of the world. Music is played almost everywhere that there is human endeavour. People opt to listen to music that resonates with them and appeal to their inner senses. Each individual has their own unique taste for music and preference for certain kind of music. Music is something that everyone enjoys listening to as it refreshes the soul and keeps the human mind active. It also helps to reflect the kind of personality that an individual has formed, is forming, or is likely to form due to the repeated exposures to certain music genres. This paper therefore intends to establish connections among music, the human soul, and the formation of human personalities through the influence of music. It is hoped that an understanding of this can help to identify the strength of music on the human personality and to be consciously aware of the kind of music individuals intentionally and unintentionally get exposed to. The paper also explores music preferences from the context of Nigerian music listeners and its implications on the context of their social interactions and personality development.
