Joseph Roth was a star journalist in the Weimar Republic. However, he also published a large number of poems, reviews, commentaries and reports in Prague newspapers, especially in this favorite newspaper, the Prager Tagblatt (Prague Daily). In addition, Prague was for him a place where his specific form of homelessness found its ideal home. This text thus also focuses on the question of what made this possible and to what degree his perception of the city provides an insight into what exactly made it, in his opinion, a “home for the homeless.”
