The mission of the U.N.R.R.A. (Unated Nation Relief and Rehabilitation Administration) carried out almost two years of activity in Albania (from 1 August 1945 to 7 July 1947). Its agreement with the Albanian Government was signed on August 1, 1945. It Served both parties to settle the disputes between themselves, but in some cases this agreement was interpreted subjectively.

This paper focuses on the life story of Flight Lieutenant Václav Martínek (born 1903). A pre-war career officer in the Czechoslovak Army, Martínek left to join the resistance abroad in 1939/1940. He served with a Czechoslovak unit in France and after its defeat in the UK. In the years 1945–1947 he served at the headquarters of the Air Force Main Staff in Prague. At the time of the February coup he was head of the 2nd unit of the staff of the 2nd Air Corps in České Budějovice. During his service there he repeatedly made his anti-Communist views clear; this led to criminal charges being taken against him for political reasons on 25 February 1948, when he was also suspended from service. In this situation Lieutenant Martínek chose to depart this life voluntarily and on 29 February 1948 committed suicide near the České Budějovice airfield.

U prvim poslijeratnim godinama barski srez je mijenjao svoje administrativne granice. Septembra 1945. od bivšeg barskog sreza su formirana dva: barski i ulcinjski. Barski srez je bio podijeljen na 18 mjesnih narodnih odbora. Maja 1947. godine ponovo je došlo do objedinjavanja ova dva sreza, sve do 1952. godine kada je na ovom području formirano osam opština. Mjesni narodni odbori bili su organi vlasti kojima je rukovodio Sreski narodni odbor koji je imao više odsjeka i komisija: opšti, prosvjetni, plansku komisiju, odsjek za narodno zdravlje i socijalno staranje, odsjek za poljoprivredu i šumartsvo, privredni odsjek, finansijski odsjek i unutrašnji odsjek. Državni arhiv Crne Gore, Arhivsko odjeljenje Bar, posjeduje veoma obimnu, značajnu i dragocjenu dokumentaciju Sreskog narodnog odbora 1945-1953, koja svojom raznovrsnošću i sadržajem omogućava veoma detaljno i precizno izučavanje društva u barskom srezu u naznačenom periodu. U tom smislu, saglasno opštim društvenim kretanjima, detaljni i realativno precizni popisi imovine imaju poseban značaj. Ovom prigodom objavljujemo jedan dokument Mjesnog narodnog odbora Stari Bar o imovini vjerskih zajednica sa području ovoga odbora.

In September 1947, Kasim Dobrača, Mahmut Traljić, Derviš Korkut and a number of other Muslim scholars and intellectuals were brought to trial. Prosecution was carried out with the aim to discredit defendants in public sphere and the official charges were cooperation with fascist occupiers and planning to destroy the existing constitutional order. Sarajevo newspapers “Oslobođenje” published extensive reports on this trial on daily bases. The aim of the article is to present the manner in which these reports were written, analyzing the language and the terminology as well. It is a humble contribution to placing some light upon the period of the socialist Yugoslavia.

During the Second World War, the Czechs and the Slovaks joined anti-fascist resistance on many fronts. The battlefield in the former Yugoslavia was in terms of numbers of combatants third most important. The relationship of politicians, historians and media, to various components of our resistance reflected changes in the political orientation of Czechoslovakia, or the Czech Republic. The share of the Czechs and the Slovaks, settled in Slavonia, in the liberation of Yugoslavia and the defeat of Germany was always “politically” complicated. But nobody can dispute its importance and scope, heroism of members the National Liberation Army of Yugoslavia, natives of Bohemia, Moravia and Slovakia. In October 2013, we marked the seventieth anniversary of this unit.

Although Charles de Gaulle is one of the most recognized French statesmen, the history of the Free French Forces that contributed to the rise of this extraordinary character is hardly discovered even by historians. Among the various units of the organization, the Free French Naval Forces are perhaps the most neglected for different reasons. Therefore, this paper makes an attempt to fill this historiographical gap by presenting this more or less forgotten navy. The naval forces were established on 1 July 1940 and existed until 1 August 1943. During these three years, the navy of the Free France contributes to the Allied war effort and participates in the defence of convoys carrying supplies to Great Britain. With its limited staff, the fleet plays a secondary role in the Battle of the Atlantic, but its activity is very valuable from a political point of view because it contributes to the consolidation of the position of General de Gaulle’s movement and to the fact that France ends the war on the winning side of the conflict.

As a part of the judicial settlement with Nazi war criminals in the post- war era, only few Waffen-SS officers stood trial before the extraordinary people’s courts. The reasons for this lie in the unknown fate which befell the actors after the war, incomplete documentation and inadequate knowledge of the situation by the authorities at that time. One of the highest-ranking defenders was former SS General Bernhard Voss.
