The work raises the problem of the subject in the non-human world. Based on the movie „Avatar” (dir. James Cameron, 2009) shows the potentional of understanding the subject in the world of plants and animals. The movie was used in the work as far-reaching metaphor of the world in which we live, or to maximize the specific attitudes and theories that we use in the our environment and science. This analysis was confronted with today’s level of subject understanding in our world and invites the readers to reflect on the status of other living creatures.

Television stardom is one of the difficult concepts to define, Because of it includes fame and reputation. Except for celebrity studies and film studies, although they have different parameters fame, celebrity and star have been often used as synonymous of each other. These three concepts are examined through television in the study. In the study, first of all, television fame, celebrity and personality were examined and television stardom was conceptualized. After the conceptualization of television stardom, the stardom image of Tuba Büyüküstün as a television star was revealed. The most important factor forming Büyüküstün's star image is its natural beauty. Her reluctant position on and off the screen puts her in the reluctant star category. The landscape of human identity has shifted dramatically, particularly in the aftermath of the Posthuman movement, challenging traditional concepts enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The general field of Posthumanism embraces a wide range of philosophical, cultural, and technological perspectives that investigate the impact of moving beyond traditional concepts of human identity, capabilities, and boundaries. At its foundation, it rejects anthropocentrism—the assumption that humans are the primary or most significant beings in the universe—in favor of viewing humans as one of many agents, both biological and artificial, operating within complex systems. As the movement strives to correct historical prejudices, it highlights humanity’s unique experiences that go beyond conventional norms. The goal of the present study is to improve the understanding of how the Posthuman movement, alongside related ideologies like Critical Posthumanism and Transhumanism, confronts historical preconceptions and stresses unique human experiences that go beyond traditional expectations. The research focuses on the subjective change of identity, particularly in people who are somewhat deemed less than human due to motor limitations, hindering day-to-day life and involvement in social contexts.

TOWARDS THE OTHER (ARTS). Intersubjectivity and Intermediality in Sally Potter’s Films

Rooted in Sally Potter’s multimedia practices, film emerges throughout her artistic oeuvre at the crossroads of arts, and it is nourished by artistic impulses beyond its boundaries. The overflowing presence of the other arts has resulted in overtly intermedial and reflexive works, which attest to the symbiotic communion of arts. Rethinking the conclusions of earlier studies focused on the intermediality of The Tango Lesson (1997) (Pieldner 2019) as well as the intersensuality of The Roads Not Taken (2020) (Pieldner 2023), this paper aims to enlarge the frame of analysis by looking at a selection of films also including Sally Potter’s Yes (2004). In these films, intermediality and intersensuality appear as a performative space whereby the presence of the other arts is substantially linked to the theme of otherness. Intersubjectivity is among the central themes of Sally Potter’s films. This paper looks at how the issue of the Other is approached through intermedial crossroads among film and literature, painting, dance, theatre, and sculpture.
