Sentiment Analysis of Speech with Application to Various Languages

In this paper we aim to explore and implement a modern speech recognition system using Natural Language Processing (NLP) and sentiment analysis that can be applied in the area of audio and text archive investigation from various languages. To that end we developed a project that can be used to convert speech to text and perform various analysis on a converted text. Furthermore, we focused on recognizing different information such as names, emotions and also determine the overall sentiment of a script. Furthermore, we perform web scraping for names and organizations of importance used in speech. To achieve this, we used Python with various specialized modules. In order to simplify the task of collecting and storing audio inputs for processing we have developed an Android app with connection to a cloud database. This methodology can easily be applied for the purposes of digital presentation and preservation of cultural and scientific heritage.

Sfidat aktuale për zhvillimin e veprimtarisë arkivore në Kosovë

As a result of several factors, in recent years, archiving in Kosovo has not been developed at high institutional levels.Managerial neglect to the extent of abuse in the last years before the war, lack of investment for optimal material conditions (technical-technological and spatial) as well as for the profiling of staff, become negative factors that hinder progressive progress in the professional work of archives. Consequently, the current situation is characterized by multidimensional aspects, which challenge the establishment and development of this activity.In terms of content, these challenges are related to low quality and insufficient legislation, registrations, their work and the state of documentation - archive material they manage, the lack of bylaws and especially its (non) implementation, lack of optimal housing conditions. , i.e. storage of archival material, for its protection and storage in their intended spaces, with the lack of equipment for air conditioning, for protection from moisture, rodents, mold, etc., with the lack of qualified and profiled staff.Such a situation is by no means even better today in public archival institutions, starting from the local to the central level (Archives in municipalities and other local institutions, Inter-Municipal Archives and the State Agency of Archives of Kosovo). The reflection of this situation in the "gro-plan", some ideas and reference proposals for facing these challenges and overcoming them are the objective and effort that are intended to be achieved with my brief elaboration within this topic.

Contribuţii la istoria României într-o carte din secolul al-XVII-lea

The library „Gheorghe Asachi” from Iaşi has an interesting collection of old books belonging to the XVIth and XVIIth centuries. This collection comprises a great number of historical works. Among them, we have to mention Raphael Fabretti’s book De Columna Traiani Syntagma, which came out printing at Angellus Tinassius printing house in Rome, about 1683.Fabretti opens his book with a preface Ad lectorem, explaining away the importance of this work for history, taking into consideration that there are preserved few documents belonging to Traian’s period.The work is divided in nine chapters; seven of them remarke Traian’s reign, the author using a few known historical and literary sources about those times. At the same time, the author tries some considerations on the artistical achievement of the sculptures on the Column. The eight chapter is a comparative study concerning the existing inscriptions from the Roman empire period and the ones on the Column. The last chapter of the work deals with numismatics. There are commented and compared various monies belonging to Traian’s reign (during the Dacian Wars) and even after Traian’s reign.Fabretti ends the book with an index of works and memorable words. We consider this book very important for the collection of our library, because the Traian’s Column is an authentic birth certificate for the Romanian people.

De la tradiţia lecturii la partizanatul confesional: Chiriacodromionul (1699) în mediile ardelene (sfârşitul secolului al XVII-lea – secolul al XVIII-lea)

The purpose of this study is to analyse the Transylvanian destiny of one of the most important religious books that has been printed in the 17th century at Alba Iulia printing house: Chiriacodromion. The first part of this study presents the political and confessional background – from Transylvania and Wallachia – of the publication of this book in 1699. We were also interested in the structure of the book, which is only a republication of the most succesful Romanian printed work from the 17th century, Cazania lui Varlaam.The second part of the study reffers to the way this book – Chiriacodromion – has been accepted in Transylvanian background during the 18th century by different confessional orders: orthodoxy and catholicism, archpriests, priests and also by irreligious persons.

Evoluţii şi probleme ale catalogării în biblioteca contemporană

It is well-known that the library inour days must evolve in order torespond the readers needs; that implies a better informational endowment.The process of informatisation may be divided into four stages: the Ostage refers to the lack of any modern informational mean; the 1st stage impliesthe automatization of public library services and the acces to OPAC (On LinePublic Acess Catalogue); the 2nd stage requires Internet connection not only for librarians, but also for the readers; the 3rd stage reffers to the existence ofvirtual library.The informational process in our country was obvious in the mostimportant librairies, such as: National Library, University Library, AcademicLibrary. Unfortunatelly, there are a lot of impediments linked to administrative,financial, mental, geographical, law problems etc. Sometimes, these problemshave been solved with the support of local communities.The process of informational development affected first of all thespecific services of the public library: Cataloguing, Evidence, Circulation,Aquisition.In modern librairies, we do no longer need the traditional cataloguecards, because the readers had no possibility to consult them outside thelibrary.The use of informational services in public librairies meant a stepforward in two ways: the informations are better organized and stored and canbe found in a faster and easier way; on the other hand, the readers are betterserved if they have computers and databases to help them.

Ze zbiorów Biblioteki Śląskiej: „Zorza Polska. Miesięcznik dla Dzieci” i jej autor

The article presents an analysis of the handwritten journal for children “Zorza Polska. Miesięcznik dla Dzieci,” kept in the collection of the Silesian Library in Katowice (reference number R 1416 III). The creator of the magazine was Kazimierz Wallis (1896–1918), son of Łukasz Wallis (1863–1940), a well-known collector of Silesian folk songs. In the 22 issues, created between October 1909 and January 1912, he published works of his own authorship – stories, poems (a few translated by himself), descriptions, anecdotes, jokes, rebuses, golden thoughts, and drawings. The journal was most likely bound by the Wallis. At the end of the volume, cards of dark, thicker paper were added, on which 28 drawings by Kazimierz were glued. Some of them were created during his service in the German army during World War I. Kazimierz Wallis was lost on September 27, 1918 in the battle of Havrincourt near Arras in the Pas-de-Calais department.
