This case study discusses changes to the content and form of the author's visual presentation on a comparative study conducted using four corpora of English and one corpus of Polish. The changes were made based on the practical principles of preparing presentation concerning the structure of academic presentations (adding missing slides, narrowing down the topic), the organization of the information, the compositional clarity of individual slides, the amount of text, the use of colors (SmartArt objects), and the use of graphs and tables to present the results. These changes helped create a presentation which is easier to read, and more audience oriented. However, in the case of studies on corpora of texts it is difficult to achieve a good balance between textual and graphical elements, for instance, compared to medicine. Also, selecting illustrations that would be consistent with the theme of Latin expressions in legal texts was not an easy task. In the study, successive versions of representative slides, such as the introduction, the aim of the study, the conclusions, the final slide, etc., are put together to show, using examples, how the principles of preparing effective presentations were implemented.
