Summary/Abstract: History is reflected in today's media through news, portraits, analysis or interviews. Sometimes these materials give meaning to current events, helping the individual to understand and decipher them. By connecting events with the past, journalists manage - by popularizing science - to create meaning, but also to provide a certain context for their audience. Consulting with subject matter experts adds value to the content and brings the reader closer, especially in times of crisis when there is a need to dig deeper still. The present study aims to show how and how much historical references were used by journalists during the Covid-19 pandemic and what types of topics predominated in the online press.
