SOME PROBLEMS IN THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE PENALTY “PROBATION”

Summary/Abstract: Probation is the latest punishment in the Bulgarian sanction system, introduced in 2002. Despite its undeniable advantages, the penalty is accompanied by a number of disadvantages. In the last few years, there has been a significant reduction in the number of people sentenced to probation. The reasons for this are different. The subject of this study is the implementation of the penalty “probation” and in particular draws attention to the persons who are engaged in the execution of the individual probation measures. The aim is to identify and point the possible problems, the existence of which would partly explain the decreasing imposition of punishment by the courts.
