Vocabulary related to the notion of sorrow in the contemporary Polish language

Summary/Abstract: This study discusses units from the lexical family of sorrow and from the semantic group of ‘sorrow-like’ feelings in the Polish language. Based on the material – the publications of linguists, the dictionaries of the Polish language, the National Corpus of the Polish language, and the utterances of the users of the web portals – the author reconstructed the lexical and semantic field organized around the lexeme sorrow. She also examined the relationships between particular elements in the field, with special emphasis on those that are subject to neo-semantization in contemporary texts of the Polish language.
