Summary/Abstract: Our study focuses on the political slogans - the most used/actualized written/oral, carried on placards/banners, sung, shouted/voiced during marches and demonstrations, widely circulated on social networks or even facebook - of the Algerian popular uprising, called by some hirak which comes from the Arabic haraka meaning movement and by others revolution of the smile because of its peaceful character. This contribution deals on the one hand with the identification and typology of the pragmatic phraseologisms of the hirak, based on the work of G.-E. Sarfati and X. Blanco. On the other hand, it describes and explains the phenomenon of pragmatization,* by which we mean the phenomenon of the acquisition of pragmatic and/or performative values of a lexical unit or phraseological construction, such as "Yetnahaw gaa" from Algerian Arabic "ڨاع يتنحاو" equivalent to "They will all be cleared": originally produced by a single speaker in a very exceptional context, which became a star slogan taken up by millions of Algerians as a watchword or emblem characterising the hirak.
