Summary/Abstract: The satirical, imaginary concept of creating Tabarnia has gained popularity in recent years – not so much because of its usefulness, rather it exposes the tense socio-political situation in Catalonia. Therefore, the main objective of this article is not the feasibility of the project but the reasons for creation and its implications. Furthermore, the analysis focuses on the relevance of the concept in the context of the radicalisation process of Catalan independentism.
