Summary/Abstract: Untill now , the short-story "Frritt-Flacc" was regarded by vernian criticism as a hapax, as different from the rest of Verne's production and as expressing a possible desire to experiment more direct effects of fantastic. Contrary to these approaches, we intend to show that the tale is closely related to the project of "Les Voyages extraordinaires", since it "strips" in an astonishing way its creative processes. By doing this, the tale seems a genuine reflexive mirror, which also projects a quite astonishing image of Jules Verne himself.
