Summary/Abstract: This paper represents a contrastive analysis of the perfective and imperfective aspectual opposition in English and Romanian language. The paper also represents a unique contribution to the Romanian aspectology since verbal aspect has not been studied and analyzed in this manner before. Oppose to the traditional linguistic theories which imply that verbal aspect does not exist as an individual verbal category in Romanian language, this paper offers proof that aspect does exist as a separate verbal category in Romanian as well and offers examples to support this claim.
