Summary/Abstract: Allama Tabatabai was a prominent researcher and prolific scholar, who spent most of his life studying and educating prolific authors. His valuable works in various fields of religious knowledge testify to the profoundness and intellectual potential of this esteemed mufesir. His works include innovation, critical analysis, deep philosophical and intellectual debates, and a open-mindedness accompanied by adherence to the principles of Shariah and responses to the demands of the time. Among the works of Allama Tabatabai, the most significant are al-Mizan fi tafsir al-Qur’an in twenty volumes, Usul-e falsafeh va ravesh-e-realism (Principles of Philosophy and Methods of Realism), a work in five volumes, Bidayat al-hikma (The Beginning of Philosophy), Nihayat al-hikma (The End of Philosophy) and Shie dar eslam (Shi’a in Islam). The exceptional spiritual and intellectual significance of Allama Tabatabai is also evidenced by the fact that Henry Corbin, one of the most excellent connoisseurs of Islamic philosophy in the West, listened to his lectures for years and devotedly learned from him.
