Summary/Abstract: The first part of the paper is an introduction to the very concept and meaning of Tradition, since it profiles and largely determines different streams of Muslim thought. Undoubtedly, it also affects the cultural profiling of a Muslim being, in the broadest sense. In the following text, the term dīn is briefly observed from the perspective of Tradition. In the second part of the paper, a distinction is made between the terms dīn and īmān, which are sometimes presented and translated in the same way, due to linguistic stratification and partial overlapping in capturing religious genius, although they are neither etymologically nor semantically the same, which will be emphasized. In the following part of the text, the term dīn is discussed in the theological science of Imam Abu Hanīfa, whereby classical works on aqeedah (Islamic belief system) were consulted, while the term and the contextual use of the term in the works of Imam Abū Hanīfa are perceived in the light of theological and religious studies.
