Summary/Abstract: Philosophy and theology are often trying to figure out the most pressing contemporary problems, among which is undoubtedly the appearance transgenetic modified organisms. Food and some medicines which are derived from genetically modified organisms have become a daily routine in the human diet and treatment of disease. Islam is the second largest monotheistic world religion with a huge population, which is a very important factor at the neo-liberal market. This paper analyzes, from the philosophical and Islamic theological point of view, issues related to the use of GMO products in the daily diet and treatment of disease. An outline of standpoints on the GMO acording to the basis authoritive Islamic such as Qur’an and Sunnah is presented. It is followed by the description of the basic precautions and prohibitions, called the protection of life by Islamic theological-legal doctrine, because healthy life is the fundamental value within the Islamic way of life.
