Summary/Abstract: This article seeks to discuss a new element in the criminal proceedings in Romania, the so-called associated case files and their legal status.Starting from the thesis of the European Convention on Human Rights, which calls on the signatory states to ensure the conduct of a fair trial in full harmony with the principles of criminal proceedings, it is necessary to investigate the extent to which so-called associated cases are built on compliance with the fundamental law, the Code of Criminal Procedure, based on the great principles of law.The authors seek to make certain observations in order to reveal the technical-legal characteristics that must take precedence in the conduct of the trial in the criminal process.
