Summary/Abstract: Religious Philosophy of Nikolai Berdyaev is eschatologically oriented. His understanding of eschatology is active - creative, not passive. According to Berdyaev, the endof this world depends on the creative act of man, and not only from God. In his work, theauthor focuses on Berdyaev’s thoughts on the eschatological perspective of the personal destiny of man. Berdyaev’s criticism of traditional Christian eschatology, which, according to this criticism, is adapted to the categories of this world, is based on our imperfect distinction of good and evil. Berdyaev strongly stresses the need for less dogmatic and rationalistic, and more mystical clarification of the eschatological man’s destiny. This attitude is particularly relevant to our perceptions of paradise and hell. Berdyaev’sinsights can help us by protecting us from inhumane elements in our thinking about important eschatological issues and opening up to the true understanding of Christian faithin the spirit of love, freedom and tolerance.
